The third Asian Pacific Interdisciplinary Research in Accounting (APIRA) Conference returns to Australia in 2001. After its very successful launch in Sydney in 1995, and its strongly supported second conference in Osaka, Japan, in 1998, it will be hosted in Adelaide, the "home" of the AAAJ joint editorial office, for its third appearance. We look forward to welcoming scholars to a very beautiful city that is recognised by the international convention and tourism industry as one of the foremost and most heavily patronised convention cities in the Asia Pacific region.
We are expecting a very strong representation of academics to attend the Adelaide APIRA Conference, joining us from the UK, Europe, North America, the Asia-Pacific region and many other countries. There will be a strong interdisciplinary program of research papers and forums addressing the relationships between accounting, auditing and accountability and their social, institutional, economic and political environment.
Reserve the date in your diary and plan to be there to participate in intensive discussion, debate and networking with leading and emerging scholars in our field. Join us in discovering the delights of Australia's "best kept secret" --- Adelaide, with its great arts and cultural reputation, its food and wine, its hills, beaches and world famous Barossa and McLaren Vale vineyards.
